To add a sender to the safe senders list in Outlook 2003/2007/2010

Initially, you need to start ‘Outlook’. You can do this through the ‘Start’ menu or if it is there on the desktop, you can launch it right away. Now, you need to complete the following steps depending on whether you have an e-mail from the sender you want to add or you know their e-mail address.

In case you have an e-mail message from the sender that you want to whitelist or add, here are the things you should do:

In the left menu column, you will observe the ‘Mail’ button. You need to click on it. Then, in the left pane, you need to navigate to and select the ‘Inbox’ folder. After that, you need to right-click on the message of the sender you want to whitelist. Then, from the drop-down list, you can select ‘Junk E-mail’. Subsequently, select ‘Add Sender to Safe Senders List’. Finally, Click on the ‘OK’ button.

In case you do not have an e-mail message from the sender but know their e-mail address, for such a case, you can navigate to the options.

In 2003/2007:

From the ‘Tools’ drop-down list, you need to select ‘Options….’ Then, click on the ‘Junk E-mail…’ button.

In 2010:

You can select the ‘Home’ tab. After that, in the ‘Delete’ group, you can click on the ‘Junk’ button. Then From the drop-down list, you can select ‘Junk E-mail Options….’

Select the ‘Safe Senders’ tab. For each sender that you wish to whitelist, click on the ‘Add…’ button. In the ‘Enter an e-mail address’ or ‘Internet domain name’ to be added to the list text box, you need to type the e-mail address of the person you want to whitelist. After that, click on the ‘OK’ button.

In case, you have not already checked, you can place a check in the ‘Also trust e-mail from my Contacts’ check box. Finally Click on the ‘OK’ button.
